After leaving FREEDOM CALL, Ilker Ersin started to build up his own band POWERWORLD.Ilker wrote every song, produced the demos and searched for the right musicians.
It was clear, that he would ask his longtime friend Barish Kepic of JADED HEART for the spot as guitarist. With vocalist Steffen Brunner, Nils Neumann of FREEDOM CALL at the keyboards and AT VANCE Drummer J. Lucas, the band finished the debut, which was high ranked in the rockmagazines and fanzines. The first CD was released worlwide in 2008.
Drums were recorded by Sascha Gerstner of HELLOWEEN, the premix was done by Chris Lausmann (BONFIRE/JADED HEART/PINK CREAM 69/VOICES OF ROCK/CORNERSTONE). Mastering was done by Achim Köhler (BRAINSTORM, PRIMAL FEAR, EDGUY etc.).
Unfortunately, because of engagements of some mucisians with coverbands, POWERWORLD didn't play live. Due to this, during the making of the second CD, Brunner and Lucas left the band to play with their local-coverband.
The rest of the band is finishing the work on the new CD. With drummer Simon Michael of SUBWAY TO SALLY was a drummer found who was able to play the new songs in the studio in a few days. The band started the search for the right vocalist immidiately after the recordings. After a short time they found with Andrew McDermott, Ex-SARGANT FURY/THRESHOLD, the right vocalist.
The band will finish the work on the album as fast as possible to play on the festivals in Europe! Stay tuned!!!!
