Валлийская группа «Man» была образована в 1968 году выходцами из двух паб-роковых команд: «Bystanders» и «The Dream».
В оригинальный состав вошли Micky Jones (гитара, вокал), Deke Leonard (гитара, вокал), Clive John (гитара, клавишные, вокал), Ray Williams (бас) и Jeff Jones (ударные). Практически с самого начала в творчестве «Man» появились психоделические и прогрессивные элементы, что сразу же выделило коллектив из многочисленной толпы паб-рокеров.
